Give that man a "Buckle"
Lets just say my UltraRunning season is done for now until after IronMan Wisconsin in 16 weeks.
Not sure how I would do. With little running the past 4 weeks because of my ankle troubles.
I did see the HMO doc Wednesday, definitely no stress fracture, told me pretty much I should be fine. But have referral with the foot doctor to make sure.
It was "game on" after that..
Hmm, longest run was a 12 mile trail run the past four weeks. I had to go with "UltraRunning is 90% mental, Oh the other 10% is also mental" theory.
Well I finished in 10:01:35, goal time was a sub 10 hours. Oh almost there, but I met some nice Ultra bloggers and had a great time just hanging out.
Overall goals were completed, it wasn't pretty but I'm happy nonetheless. Did I stay upright this time. Not exactly.
I did learn some valuable lessons, that a rock versus my toes is never a good outcome. Also trying to run 50 miles on any course is always a long way for this newbie UltraRunner.
But for now, I'm tired and in a little bit of pain. So race report later.
Tomorrow I take the wife out for a "Mother's day Brunch", because it is time to pig out and restore some balance in Bubba's life with some family time.

Sucks that you have to deal with injury so close to IMW. I hope the foot doc gives you the green light. Oh, I'm sure you've posted about this before, but what style of Martial Arts did you study?
Wait...ANOTHER 50 miler?!?!?! How did I miss that?!?!?
WOW--great job! Enjoy wearing your buckle with pride.
YEAH!!!!
I'm so happy for you! You rocked with Wisconsin and will do it again in 16 weeks.
Bet the family enjoyed their Sunday with you.
Great job on the Ultra! Now it's time to kick into IronBubba mode again. WoooHooo
Way to go! Nice Buckle! 10:01 is a mighty time for a 50 miler, can't wait for the report.
Wow... you are simply amazing!!
It was great meeting up with you at mile 40--and you looked real good!! You still looked strong!
I think you'll surprise yourself at IMW.
Congrats on a solid race!!
Great job,Dennis! At least it wasn't a 'mud run'. Hope your foot is ok.
Congrats Man, you're crazy, that's all I can say.
Great meeting you out there. Way to pushing through. And you are right toe vs. rock never ends with the toe winning. I look forward to the full race report.
If I stretch my mind, I can imagine a 50-miler. But it's a nebulous vision, nothing like the understated, matter-of-fact mention you make of an astonishing feat. And your time was great, all the more since you delivered it with an injury. Fabulous work.
