TRI Mountain
"The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones." ~ Chinese proverb
So today has been the end of my first full week of IronMan training. It has been a little bit of adjustment from trying to run 50+ miles a week for my Ultra training and now limit my running to 30-35 miles a week. While filling the void with more cycling and swimming.
My mountain has changed, the view is definitely different these days.
From getting my professional bike retrofit that only cost me under $60 instead of $250 last year. WooHooo
No more rocks to hop over or creeks to run through these days. More of a sore ass and butt creme in the mix.
My TRI mountain is upon me now.
I have always been the consistent TRI racer the past 3 years, now I need a change, a change of pace actually. To go a little faster this year, to feel good at a faster pace is the view from my TRI mountain I'm looking for.
So the first stone has been carried away. My first 10k of the year, actually probably in the last 2 years. I think it was a PR (official time 45:50/7:23 pace)
even though at that pace I was fizzling out at certain points.
But a stone carried away nevertheless.
I will conquer my mountain one day.
Then I will sit down on my mountain and try to find another stone to carry away from somewhere else .
Happy Memorial Day to all !!!

Great 10K! You HAVE to savor the small stuff. That's what it's all about. Great quote!
Dude, you're looking lean! (as in lean mean machine). All those ultra miles are really paying some dividends.
Congrats on the 10K and PR - that's a great pace. Move that mountain!
Great 10K, I need to find one later in the season to reset my own PR, haven't run one in a couple years.
Nice 10 K PR!
Great job on the 10K. Bet it felt different running fast at a short distance after all that ultra running stuff. Wonder which stone you're carrying away next...
There are many stones in this mountain, but you are on to a good start. Happy carrying!
